Next time you’re in the area go to Bridgeville. TS Smith has lots of peaches, corn, melons, nectarines etc and you can even pick your own. Why bother with the traffic when you can get it fresh at the farm? We just love their funky old farm store.

What a great pice about Lewes, I remember it so well when I arrived as a New bride in 1962 you were just an infant,(ops!) I am giving away your age. I think we ate crabs. corn and tomatoes every day.
So nice to meet Roy, hope to meet your daughter one day.

Well, I am sorry our visit was so short this time, but we are definitely going to go back for a longer stay next time. That place does tug at my heart, and yes, there is room for more family memories! And I should know that argent is French for silver, but I totally forgot –that’s so cool. What a fun piece to read as it reminds me of the great summers we had there with our big extended family. Hopefully there’s room for new memories. Mike (my fiancé) suggested I pass on to you that ‘argent’ is French for ’silver’, but maybe you already knew that-you’re super smart! Possibly a loose connection to silver queen corn?

Love your story…all the reasons I love living here on delmarva. We travel to Lewes every weekend (battling the beach traffic) just to visit the Lewes Farmers Market. Thanks for sharing!
